Joan of Arc
The Youngest Lady Warrior
Joan of Arc demonstrated incredible strength as the 18 year old woman to take part in the Hundred Years’ War as the military leader for the French. As stated in the article, “As history would prove, beyond these traits, she also possessed remarkable mental and physical courage” (“Joan of Arc” 1). This means that it pushed Joan to be involved in the whole war scene. This shows that Joan of Arc was a very bold and courageous girl. Furthermore, the dauphin(King Henry VII) provided Joan with several military men, and she was joined in her fight by her brothers Jean and Pierre” (“At Orléans” 1). This shows how courageous and dedicated her brothers and herself were to their people. This matters because this made a huge impact on history known as “Hundred Years’ War”, the French and British had been the ones involved. Joan of Arc was beatified in 1909 and canonized ( to be a saint) in 1920. She is one of the patron saints of France along with St. Denis, St. Martin of tours, St. louis IX, and St. Theresa of Lisieux.
